Discover our free online group discussion workshops

Connecting with Africa or learning an African language can sometimes require pushing yourself. The secret is to surround yourself and support each other on this journey! We invite you to join the Soma Langues community through our free group workshops!

Writing Workshops "Ikaze!" - Our Languages

The writing workshops "Ikaze!" are held every first Monday of the month at 8 PM. This word means "Welcome" in Kinyarwanda. These workshops are a space to talk about our different languages that we have lost, found, are learning or trying to preserve as people with African heritage. These are special moments to express ourselves, share, write and read together with kindness around our languages and the questions they create for us.

ENRICHING CULTURAL EXCHANGES

How our workshops can help you

It is often difficult to find opportunities to hear, practice, learn or preserve our African languages, especially if you live abroad or don't have a local community to exchange with. Our free group workshops are a space for discussion in Soma Langues languages and to talk about the consequences of losing all African languages.

Regular Oral Practice

Our workshops offer you a unique opportunity to practice your language skills regularly and improve your fluency in Kinyarwanda, Kirundi and Swahili and other African languages.

Cultural Immersion

Each session is not only a language lesson, but also an immersion into African culture, allowing you to better understand the cultural context of the language.

Community Exchange and Support

Join a community of learners who share the same goals, with support from native teachers who guide and motivate you throughout your learning.

DANCE WORKSHOPS IN PARIS

Rwandan Dance Workshop: "Tubyine!"

Nido Uwera, of Rwandan origin, has been trained since childhood in traditional dances by the artists of the last royal ballet of Rwanda. She is a dancer, choreographer and educator.
The dance workshop she offers in Paris is always for her a danced journey, an opportunity to transmit her passion, to build bridges between our cultures, exchanges and encounters.
Her work will focus on the fundamental and gestural basics of certain styles of traditional Rwandan dances: foot strikes, rhythm, syncopation...
She invites you to have fun and seek creative choreographic language 😊
Her pedagogy is nourished by her experience of different bodily practices (contemporary dance, theater, singing, Qi gong...).
In a playful setting, her workshops and classes are accessible and designed for dance enthusiasts (to discover or deepen)!
She is accompanied by percussion, music or singing.
